Fulfill a Vow for {CMC Expansion Project} — Groundbreaking Ceremony

In a cold early November morning, for the expansion project of Chan Meditation Center, a groundbreaking ceremony was held under the leading of Dharma Drum Mountain Abbot President, Venerable Guodong, and Chan Meditation Center Abbot, Venerable Abbot Guoxing. The autumn wind that chilled u p the crowd of the voluntary crew and the followers of Chan Meditation Center that morning, AP Ven. Guodong interpreted it as a blowing wind that spreads the seed of Dharma Drum and Chan Buddhism throughout the world. more

2014 Family Chan Camp

Every summer, Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association (DDMBA) hosts a summer camp at Pine Bush NY. This year, the summer camp began on Wednesday August 6 to Sunday August 10. Counselors from New Jersey, New York, and even Texas arrived two days early to camp to begin their counselor training in preparation for a successful and productive summer camp. With a counselor team of 7, the counselors began their training with a tour of the beautiful, serene retreat center. Pine Bush, located just 90 miles northwest of New York City, provides the perfect setting to host a summer camp in which everyone is able to take a break from their daily lives and enjoy a peaceful week of inner calmness with friends. more

Typhoon Haiyan Relief Report

On November 2nd, 2013, Typhoon Haiyan, caused extensive damages in many parts of Philippines. Right after the disaster, DDMBA North America Disaster Relief Group (DDMBA-NA DRG) started its effort to work on the relief fund. Over the past year, with tremendous supports from DDMBA-NA affiliations, namely DDM Centers, DDM Chapters, and various DDM Groups in Canada and USA, DDMBA-NA DRG has since received donations of total USD $ 18,050. After evaluation of various relief programs for the most devastated areas in Philippines, DDMBA Sangha and DDMBA Disaster Relief Group made a decision to use the fund to assist students in the most damaged areas. more

Thursday Evening Tai Chi Moving Meditation

Every Thursday, 7:30pm to 9:00 pm

Experience the great depth of Chan practice through the combination of Ta-chi with Chan meditation.

The modern people are often busy, stressed and tense. Tai Chi Moving Meditation helps to unify and ease the body and mind.

Moreover, it is an expedient to improve physical health.
