DDYP Coffee and Chat — A connection with Dharma Teacher for Personal Growth

Cultivating Generosity: A One Day Retreat

Movie & Mind — The Breadwinner

The animation depicts that in 2001, Afghanistan is under the control of the Taliban. After Parvana’s father is captured, as an 11 years old young girl, she decides to crossdress as a boy in the conservative community to bring food and money home to support her family.

A free screening and discussions of movies from a Buddhist perspective led by Dr. Peter Lin.

Passing on the Lamp 7-Day Chan Retreat

In the memory of our late Chan Master Sheng Yen, we practice together to reinforce the beginner’s mind and vow. The wholehearted practice to achieve great realization represents the deepest respect and appreciation to our Shifu.

  •     Passing on the Lamp Ritual on Feb 3.
  •     Retreat talks: the late Chan Master Sheng Yen’s DVD talks.

Thursday Evening Tai Chi Moving Meditation

Every Thursday, 7:30pm to 9:00 pm

Experience the great depth of Chan practice through the combination of Ta-chi with Chan meditation.

The modern people are often busy, stressed and tense. Tai Chi Moving Meditation helps to unify and ease the body and mind.

Moreover, it is an expedient to improve physical health.

Fee: $80 for 16 classes or $25 per month
