Haiti Relief Report
Immediately after the disastrous Haiti earthquake in 2010, DDM North America Buddhist Association (DDMBA) initiated caring efforts by providing sanitary supplies and cleaning equipments to the affected areas. Since then, to further assist Haiti recovers from the disaster, DDMBA also actively searched medical equipments for Haiti’s local hospital use. After one year of searching, DDMBA finally purchased all required medical equipments.
On June 27, 2012, a donation ceremony was conducted at Miami, Florida to transfer all purchased medical equipments to Haiti. On behalf of DDMBA, Dr. Chiu Ling Wang attended the ceremony to present DDMBA’s donation and care. The donation was received by Dr. Gelin Gedeon and Dr. Agabus Joseph, on behalf of Clinque Mere-Enfant de Pernier Centre Haitian de Recherche en Sciences de la Sante.
During the ceremony, both Dr. Gedeon and Dr. Joseph expressed their gratitude for DDMBA’s meaningful donation and care. They are committed to transport these medical equipments to the affected areas so the people can benefit from them as soon as possible.
